OEM Flour Packaging: Pack Sizes, Labels & Order Confirmation
Plan your private label flour project by confirming the product, packaging and approval requirements before production.
Start With the Product and Your Sales Plan
Kanglu supports discussions for OEM and private label flour projects. To review a suitable proposal, we need to understand both the flour you require and how you intend to sell or use it.
A retail product, a bakery ingredient and a food-service pack may require different flour specifications, packaging formats and order quantities. Begin with your intended application, destination market, target pack weight and estimated first order.
A useful first enquiry: Tell us the flour type, intended use, net weight per bag, estimated quantity and destination. If you already have a specification sheet or packaging reference, include it with your enquiry.
Can You Request a Specific Pack Weight?
Yes. You can submit your required net weight for review, including a retail concept such as a 500 g pack. The proposed weight should be assessed together with the flour type, bag dimensions, packaging material, filling arrangement and order quantity.
A requested weight is the starting point for a packaging review. Final availability, bag format, pricing and minimum order quantity are confirmed for the specific project.
Retail Packs
Share the target shelf presentation, pack weight, bag style and brand artwork. Let us know whether the project involves one product or several different products.
Commercial Packs
For bakeries, distributors or food manufacturers, explain the handling needs, storage conditions, required bag weight and any outer-packaging requirements.
What Determines the Minimum Order Quantity?
There is no single MOQ that should be assumed for every OEM project. The quantity depends on the selected flour, production arrangements and packaging requirements.
Custom-printed bags may have a separate minimum purchasing quantity from the packaging supplier. That quantity can differ from the amount of flour planned for the first production run, so both should be clarified before confirmation.
| Factor | What Needs to Be Confirmed |
|---|---|
| Flour Selection | Whether the project uses an existing product or requires a separately reviewed formulation or specification. |
| Bag Format and Material | Bag style, dimensions, material structure and suitability for the proposed product. |
| Printing and Artwork | Printing requirements, artwork versions and any associated setup costs. |
| Number of Products | Different flour types, pack sizes or artwork versions may need separate quantity confirmation. |
| Testing and Documents | Additional testing, sampling or documentation arrangements that affect project cost and timing. |
Confirm the Packaging Information Before Printing
Packaging design should follow the final product information. Confirm the flour selection and agreed specification before approving text that describes the product.
- Product identity: Product name, ingredients and intended product description.
- Pack information: Net weight, bag dimensions and outer-pack arrangement.
- Brand presentation: Brand name, logo, artwork language and the approved design version.
- Product information: Agreed storage instructions, shelf-life information and supporting nutritional data where required.
- Traceability: Space and arrangements for batch identification and date marking.
- Market requirements: Label information and importer details to be confirmed for the destination.
Assign responsibility for preparing, checking and approving each part of the artwork. Keep a written record of the final approved version before printing begins.
Organic wording and logos: Review the relevant certification documents and product scope before approving organic claims or certification marks on private label packaging. The proposed wording should match the selected product and destination requirements.
Approve the Flour and the Packaging Separately
A flour sample helps you evaluate product performance. A packaging proof helps you review the bag design and production details. These are separate approval steps.
A sample may be supplied in evaluation packaging. Do not assume that the sample bag represents the final retail packaging unless that has been specifically agreed.
1. Review the Flour
Confirm the proposed product, specification and sample evaluation requirements for your application.
2. Review the Pack
Confirm the net weight, bag format, material, artwork and any available proof or sample arrangements.
3. Confirm the Documents
Agree on any required test reports, batch COA or certification documents before production.
4. Confirm the Order
Record the final quantity, price, approvals, production schedule and delivery arrangements in the order documents.
Clarify Unused Packaging and Repeat Orders
If custom packaging is purchased in a quantity larger than the first flour order, agree on how any unused packaging will be handled. Discuss ownership, storage arrangements, related charges and the conditions for using it in a later order.
Before reordering, confirm whether the product, pack weight, artwork or destination information has changed. A revised design or product specification may require a new review and approval.
